Happy to announce I will be showing work at The Wunderwall in Gallery Sofie Van de Velde from 10 May – 22 June 2025. The work will also be on display during Antwerp Art Weekend , which runs from 29 May – 1 June 2025. You are very welcome to join us on the opening day for a drink (10/05)!
On view will be a selection of work from my archive, depicting my current view and feelings about things surrounding me, a reflection on the past years as well as a look into the near future.

Next up at The Wunderwall: Elias Derboven
Elias Derboven presents an intimate world where the familiar and the unexpected come together. His work reveals these subtle, personal interactions that often go unnoticed in daily life. With a camera as a constant companion, he explores his surroundings in search of new perspectives and meanings.
His archive, an ever-evolving collection of images, provides no answers but instead raises questions about how we perceive reality. He experiments with texture, light, and composition, drawing inspiration from both photography and painting.
Though his work touches on universal themes, it remains rooted in his immediate, personal world, where friends and strangers alike open up through the lens. What emerges is a quiet sense of vulnerability and authenticity.
Visit the exhibition from 10.05.2025 - 15.06.2025

You Are Here expo at Het Bos NOV 7 - 16, 2024. Opening 07.11, 6-9 PM
You Are Here is a reminder to be in this moment, to be fully present. It’s an invitation to pause, observe, and acknowledge both your existence and the space you inhabit. Whether you're contemplating where you are or where you're headed, this exhibition encourages you to see and be seen, to engage with your surroundings and yourself. It’s about awareness, reflection, and looking deeper—to look away, and then look again.
In You Are Here, a question is posed and answered. The work invites you to consider how we see, and whether what we perceive is real. Neither the senses nor the camera perfectly capture reality. Thoughtful viewers—critical onlookers and thinkers—are needed. This exhibition aims to spark reflection, calling you to intently look and be present.
Elias Derboven will present a selection of photographs from his vast archive. As a professional photographer alongside his autonomous practice, Elias combines diverse work from still life, street life to nightlife photography. Join us at the opening on Thursday, November 7th, from 6 to 9 PM.

How does the subbacultcha community define the everyday, the extraordinary, and everything in between? For the ABC of Subbacultcha, we were invited to join in creating a collective encyclopedia of the past 12 months. Together, we share a glimpse of our world: our most treasured visual definitions and the stories behind them.

Dickie, 2021
‘My good friend Joe’s father, Dickie, is pointing to a picture of the farmhouse he stands in. Buried deep in Louisiana’s Cajun country, it shows how the place was growing up there with his dad many years ago.’
On view in S.M.AK. until 02 June.
Take this visual encyclopedia home with you! You can buy The ABC of Subbacultcha publication in the S.M.A.K. bookshop for €8, all proceeds go to tajovzw.
